Today my theme was too. I made lather from AoS lemon, I whipped it up in a black bowl. A yard sale item I thought was cool. But realistically it's too big. I measured a portion, and dropped the applicator in the bowl. A thought occured to me. (I always disliked how the little spoon filled and product was stuck and difficult to scrape off). So I dropped it into the bowl and whipped it until the applicator was free of unused product. I've also noted that painting (back and forth) strokes build peeky foam, while swirls make the mix smoother. Three passes with a Too heavy razor. The Ikon paired with the maggard mr5 would make Thor jealous. It's a chunk of a hammer. It reminded me of a wedge straight razor. Hefty but with a audible efficiency. Finish with the matching AoS balm. Clean up my items. Definitely a nice shave, but not recommended for the quick shavers.
    Too much lather
    Too big of a brush
    Too heavy razor
    Too much leftover
    Too much cleanup
    Too much rambling
I too hope y'all did as well, or better. 20190224_123455_resized.jpg

Post-Shave Balm - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements/Crown King - Atomic Age Bay Rum
Deodorant - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements/Crown King - Atomic Age Bay Rum
Fragrance/Aftershave - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements/Crown King - Atomic Age Bay Rum in Stoneware Jug
Scuttle - Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements Moonscape Scuttle

I planned on Proctor & Gamble Old Spice this Sunday, but I got a craving for the scent of Atomic Age Bay Rum due to the last vestiges of the cold that will very shortly give way to warmth and Spring. Bay Rum just is so much better in cold air (even though Atomic Age Bay Rum does fine in the warm Spring vs other more cloying Bay Rums out there). Will be out and about today for several things and I just wanted that Bay Rum on the air instead of Old Spice this time around.

Wow. This lather is astonishing when dialed in. Unbeatable! I mean come on, the peaks are bending into a wave due to the density while at the same time it has just the right amount of lift. It's plant-based but hell, it looks like it was made from dairy ingredients. How?
  4. Between work and life and death I have not posted a SotD in a while,so here goes.

Face wash x2 with warm water.
    Hot boar brush
large coffee mug w/Valor shave cream and residue from yesterdays shave
2 passes w/Atomic razor and a 4 use Derby platinum
rub the leftover lather into my beard
jump in the shower ,use Valor body wash
after shower-mix Valor a/s balm with a bit of glycerin and rub briskly across the shaved areas and into the wet beard and scalp.
apply a few squirts of Valor cologne
get dressed and head to church

Valor is a scent by Dana.A rather nice whiskey-amber-vanilla mix.You can find a gift set with cologne, balm, body wash and a shave cream that actualy lathers ,has good properties and smells good for 8-12 bucks.Well worth it.

  12. hi, thank you for the warm welcoming.
actually I'm thrilled with the entire set. Chiseled Face formula is wonderful tallow which provide fast lathering and smooth shave. Zoologist on the other hand making those incredible perfume scents which are different... good different. never smell anything like that before yet it is so genius. i highly recommend them both.

    the brush is custom made.
i actually a starter artisan, i make exclusive handmade one-of-a-kind shaving brush.

    Sandalwood focus : day 10

Been a good run....haven't tired of the theme due to the wide range of scents that are classified/categorized as "Sandalwood".... Won't be able to enjoy the heavier fragrances here in Dallas much longer. I think i have 3 line-ups left. Have given away my Soap Commander Sandalwood - scent invisible.

Chime in on any of your favorite Sandalwood soaps/creams. I want to do this again next year with a longer run!

  17. Your Sandalwood stuff is never-ending, but I think you will probably be adding yet another because Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements just sent an email saying they released a new Sandalwood Scent called something like "Scientific Sandalwood". I don't think you have it in you to resist buying it seeing as though you own every Sandalwood product known to mankind. :)
  18. One good Napoleon deserves another. My last shave was with my newly acquired John & Wm Ragg 11/16 Napoleon. Today was with his 15/16 bigger brother, the largest in my den. Both are superb razors. :happy036:
