Love my pushbutton Perry, real nice shave. That was a conversation between my Father and I 40 years ago

February Focus Eufros Rosa Bourbon~~Morris & Forndran Blonde Badger~~'58 D3 Fatboy~~Personna 74~~Burt's Bees Bay Rum Decided to switch it up today. Loaded the D3 with a Personna 74 and cranked it to setting 9. (Irrelevant) Trying a new soap acquisition also, the Eufros Rosa Bourbon. Manuel has created a lovely and imo, very straightforward rose soap. Richer than Dusy/Klar Kabinett, similar to AoS Rose Absolute and cleaner, fresher than the earthy Czech & Speake No. 88. Naturally the soap base is top-notch, as with all of his soaps. Rich, creamy, very slick lather was delivered deftly by the also-magnificent Morris & Fordran Blonde Badger. I got a little greedy on the neck today, going too much ATG. Paid the price with a few weepers. Interesting to note, that I haven't been getting any weepers lately with my straight shaves. But then again, I don't chase the baby. I could barely feel the blade in the Fatboy, even all the way open. The Personna 74, for those who are experienced with this blade, is one of the smoothest DE blades out there. I could have used a nice splash of DR Harris Pink, but you may recall that I titaniced my way through my last bottle. Instead, I finished with some Thayer's Medicated Witch Hazel and some squirts of Burt's Bees Bay Rum
Jason, that's an amazing view! We met some friends last year from Whaletown, BC, and they have invited us for a visit. (Even the trip to their house sounds like an adventure...two ferry rides, as I recall.) Between their photos and yours, we may make the trip this summer. Our only visit to BC has been a short stop in Victoria during the summer. You live in beautiful place, my friend. Please keep sharing photos.
Terrific picture and report, Joseph! Are you going to go right back to your straights or sticking with the de's for awhile? Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Thanks Clint. I was hoping for something more complex, because I already have a lot of rose soaps, but it's still really nice.
February 26, 2019 Karve D Plate Feather Simpson CH2 Synthetic Stirling R4L Soap And Aftershave This morning seems more like a Monday than a Tuesday. A little work drama before I could walk the dog. My new Simpson CH2 Synthetic LE arrived on Monday and I couldn't wait to put it to use. The "Soap Destroyer" ate through the soap and whipped up a mountain of rich slick lather. I expect the knot to loosen up over the next several uses so that it will work even better. Three passes and touch ups ended in a near perfect shave. Operator error did result in a couple of weepers. A splash of the R4l Aftershave and I am ready for work. At least I think I am. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.
Thank you. I two other CH2 Synthetics. I don't know if they opened up or loosed up as much as my mashing in on them made it easier for the knots to splay. In my experience the CH2 synthetics are not brushes that require or respond well to gentle treatment.
Thanks Bill. There used to be lots of information about DMHO on the webs. Seems the protestors have given up the fight and warnings. Thank you Perry. The Agency felt it was necessary to do the test and get the findings out there. Even if they had to leak it themselves. It has a name! Thank you Patrick. I can see doing it again. I'll be more cryptic next time and just call it that. Thank you Clint! It was a good shave and I enjoyed sharing the details. I hear you. I remember standing on a ladder, two stories up, scraping old peeling paint off the wood siding on more than one summer day. Instead of just knocking it out I whined about how my feet hurt. "Rung Foot" I called it.
