  8. March Madness!!

    March 2

    Razor - Edwin Jagger DE89l
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
Soap - Jeeves of Hudson Street Bay Rum
    Brush - Omega 10066
    Post - Alum

I was talking earlier to Chris @Bama Samurai , who sends his greetings, by the way, and it was 12F degrees in Colorado. That's the weather we have heading for us in the next 48 hours with snow. Yay. Oh well, a shave will make me feel better. Second night of Mild March Madness and the EJ DE89l and Big Ben are still up. Soap is Jeeves Bay Rum and the small Omega boar is the brush. Lather was not an issue. Jeeves handles well with any brush and even my lack of use of the boar didn't make it difficult. The Big Ben is not a horrible blade by any means, but it isn't Russian steel either. A bit rough but not so much you can't still enjoy the shave. At least so far. Three passes, a little heat to the alum but not much. No blood and near-BBS finish is the payoff and I feel better already. Let it snow! Have a great Sunday!

  12. Andrew..I think I have and they seemed a little rough in the Rockwell as well. I'll give them another try in the Rockwell and see. I have tried a Feather once in the Rockwell and they seemed rough as well.

  16. I’m a 4 pass shaver and I refresh more often than you both. If the edge is not feeling g 100% take it to the pasted strop, no need to hesitate.

  17. You're in good company, I bought his '56 Flare Tip. I looked at the SC, as it's one of the versions with the deeper cutouts in the baseplate that correspond to the top cap with the longer squared-off tabs, but I have a bar handled SC out at Razorplate right now getting a nickel replate. Oddly though, the SC I have came with the top cap like the one in Joseph's photo (the long square tabs) but my baseplate is not the deep relief version. It actually is a better fit to use a regular LC or early Tech cap on mine. The rhody SC you just bought is really the correct mating of that deep relief baseplate and the square tab/legged cap. If I hadn't had one coming with a fresh plate to pay for I would have been very tempted. Congratulations on two very nice razors.

  18. Any chance you're going to the Christie's thins summer to buy some of David Gilmour's guitars? The famous black Strat, maybe? :D

  19. Great post and shave, Bruce! I'm glad to see you continuing the with the Parker SRX for now (56 shaves!), and I look forward to your exploits with the straight razors. It's nice to see you getting your friends involved in traditional wet shaving.
