I have two Dovo shavettes and I have more luck with my Fords. I can afford to work on them. Start the list......this could get interesting!
Heres an update on the first brushes i am making. A bit more work on the finish and these will be done. Started turning another pair last week. Hope you like.
Well I started wetshaving about 6 months ago, at the beginning of last year i switched to my dads old gillette contour because i used to get terrible razor burn. Im 21 years old, and used the electric from the age of about 14. I loved the contour, but when it came time to buy new cartridges i freaked at the price! So i did some research and found a cheap South African made de for about 25 rand (2 dollars). Even with this cheap razor i got a better shave, so i started looking for other razors. I found a 1948 Gillette aristocrat barber pole for 7 dollars at a antique market and instantly fell in love with wet shaving. 6 months after starting out i now own five de razors, two cheap south African made ones, the aristocrat a fatip piccolo i received in a PIF with a selection of blades and a jager David E01. I used to lather gels with a shaving brush but converted to creams after trying out two that came in the PIF. I received my first soaps in another PIF last week and i love them! Ill be using both creams and soaps from now on. Sent from my Redmi S2 using Tapatalk
Oh snap! Did anyone order up a cookie rebellion?!?? I’m not quite ready to replace our cool berets with hair nets quite yet, Bruce, but maybe you could bring a pattern or two on the plane.
Great shave! You could write a whole book on those Techs. Hopefully it would include pics. Very interesting John .
