Is anyone else experiencing a few glitches with TSD lately? I keep getting gateway errors and general slowness. It could be my phone, but it is happening on cellular and multiple Wi-Fi networks.
Very cool, Patrick! Interesting. I have never seen them done two at a time, end to end, like that before. Did you learn that somewhere? How did you drill/tool out the holes? We’re they joined when you did that? How did you finish the bottoms after parting them? Maybe we should start a brushmakers thread in the brush forum...
Doing them end to end makes lathing easier, it also means you can finish more handles in a shorter time. Sent from my Redmi S2 using Tapatalk
Now wait just one second. Have you actually eaten any of his "ice cream"? Or seen it in other than a picture? Hmmmmmmmm??? 'Nuff said.
Easier? You’d have to explain that to me a bit. When holding a ‘single’ brush in a chuck, the hole can be drilled out quickly and precisely by putting a Bit in the tailstock, or by using a scraper and customizing the hole. What would you hold the brush with to do that ‘end to end’. If you are then putting the brush back into/ onto a chuck to finish the bottom you are about at the same time. If you finish it by hand off of the lathe, you have added time. If you do it the same way, I’d love pics! Yup, maybe it is time for a dedicated thread...there are quite a few of us hobbyists on here now and we all have our unique ways of turning.
By "easier" i meant the actual lathing. Its much easier to mark the length of each brush on the wood, put it into the lathe, do the lathing and the cut it into individual handles. I dint currently make my own brushes, but ive done a lot of work on lathes and woodwork in the past, actually learnt it at school as a subject. Sent from my Redmi S2 using Tapatalk
Same thing happened to me last night on both the phone and the Mac. Seems to be working better today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
