We got to discussing the merits of a 34/35 A’crat vs a later 36 A’crat on one of the forums. Head geometry etc. So having a 34/35 A’crat and a 38/39 Sheraton I decided to reach for one for the morning shave. Sheraton came to hand first. Loaded up with a fresh GSB and reached for RazoRock Saturnia which, if you have never tried it, I highly recommend. Saturnia is a great performer but the scent is incredible with lots herbs and slate in the scent. The matching aftershave is so good on its own, I sometimes just slap it on before leaving the house for a night out. Proceeded with the morning shave and completed two passes to achieve a near BBS shave. Why mess with a good thing. Next up will be the 34/35 A’crat.... Thank you Sir!! The Sheraton is from Chris Spencer at Back Roads Gold. Quality guy and quality shop. I have a Sheraton, New LC and two New SC by him....flawless each of them.
They are a beast unto themselves but they are wonderful shavers once you get the technique down at least that was my case. I flip razors every shave so the New LC and SC had a learning curve but not so much by comparison. It really comes down to pressure but with a blade like a fresh GSB it is sublime. My 34/35 A’crat was a lamb by comparison to this Sheraton. This was completely mint and came 24k plated from Back Roads Gold...beautiful to behold and even better to shave with. If you can get a paw on one or a Senator you won’t be disappointed.
The tech is sure a mild razor but a nice looking one in gold tone. Razor: Gold Gillette tech Blade: Personna red (3) Soap : TOBS Sandal wood Brush : Cheap Chinese Synthetic Preshave: warm wet face cloth X 2 + Alor vera Gel Postshave: Proraso red Sandal wood AS Have some great shaves!
