Star of today's SOTD is not the razor, but the folding bakelite TRAVEL KING boar shaving brush Made in Germany Brit. Zone 1920s, I found three days ago... Opening the handle, the swiveling knot ball is leaf spring locked, internal spiral spring loaded and jumps upright with a light fingertip push and a "pling" noise of the leaf spring. Closing the handle you have a sturdy and easy to handle shaving brush. The age crack was filled with cyanacrylate glue, sanded, polished and is now a hardly to remark shadow only. The sign was layed out with white paint, sanded and polished. The original boar knot was washed, combed and doesn't loose any bristles, so it doesn't make sense to replace it now. I only saw one other over all the years, with a white knot ball... Greetings from Solingen (Brit. Zone )
I’ve seen a variety of travel brushes, that’s a new one to me. Very cool! By the way nice restoration!
Gotta love those Germans. Ingenious, or maybe I just like them because my Grandmother is from there . Sent from my Nokia 6.1 using Tapatalk
