  2. We are still in the process of transitioning. The electrical portion of the projects are always the last to get moving, so I am keeping up with my day to day management responsibilities. I enjoy that job, but it will be nice to have a change, as sometimes keeping up with everything is draining.

    Blade: Schick (1)
Brush: Elite Razor Tres Amigos Desert Ironwood Beehive w/Envy White Knot
    Soap: Moon Old School
    A/S: Old Spice after 1980 w/ #4 Stopper
    Bowl: The Castle Shave Co.

I went with the number 3 plate today. It feels much better to me. The Beehive with the Envy White knot whipped up the Old School soap into a thick rich lather. a near perfect shave that has to be a BBS for sure.

Before anything was mixed into the pot, we knew what this soap needed to be. Huge amount of tallow, like soap used to be. A deep, rich scent- complex and timeless. We wanted this to be an all around amazing product- how it looks, how it smells, how it performs. Our anchor and our cornerstone supporting the rest of our line.
Notes of tobacco play on top of vetiver, leather, mahogany and sweet vanilla. A manly and truly "old school" fragrance.

I will contact Joseph to see if we can do an Old Spice comparison of the different scents. I don't have any Leather, or another scent which I can't remember at the moment @RyX.
  4. Wonderful picture, Doug! The soap sounds like a winner.

Up and moving pretty early this morning. I have two client meetings today and then I will take Mom to a late lunch/early dinner afterwards. The Ruby "Soap Destroyer" ate through the MW Vetiver and Oakmoss whipping up a rich slick lather. The 47 Super Speed is from of @Primotenore. Joseph and I worked out a deal for the New SC and 47 SS and then he refunded part of the money before even shipping the razors because the 47 SS requires some effort to load a blade. You are a true gentleman Joseph. Now onto the shave. I went with a traditional 3 pass shave. The razor was easy to use and efficient while being smooth. Not used to the thickness of the head I lost the angle just below my nose and ended up with a little scrape. Otherwise I ended up with a near perfect shave. As usual my lower right neck let the baby escape. I hope everyone has a great Saturday.
  12. That brush appears to have a defect, Clint. I’d like to take it back to my shop and fix it. It may take a while...
  13. :happy097::happy097: It's difficult but I think I will manage.
  14. Thank you, Clint!

    SR #38

With a day in between, I really noticed a big difference in today's shave.
The DD tore through the stubble like there was no tomorrow. It's almost as if the edge has to have something to cut
and when I shave daily, the growth is such that it takes multiple passes to clean it all off.

I was always successful with the DE, because of the buffing, but that clearly is not an option now.
Leviathan is a polarizing scent. Luckily for me, I really like it.
The Roam and Cologne Russe...not so much, which is why they are on the BST threads.
I THINK this is a Heritage knot from Rooney. It's a Two Band Super Badger.
Incredibly soft with lots of surface area to lather. The handle is a nice, ergonomic shape.

Rooney's butterscotch is also quite attractive. I like it much better than my Paladin and Simpson...
I am, of course, referring to the color only.
Glen @gssixgun put a great edge on the DD and while the gold wash is all but worn away on the shank,
it is still a beauty and I look forward to many a great shave with it.
Only one more DE to sell and I will have transitioned completely to SR's.
My wife said to me the other day, "you won't always be able to shave with a straight".
Well, we'll just have to see about that!
But just in case, I have my favorite DE's close at hand.
