    I'll never forget one of my first days of retirement. It was Monday morning, and it was my first time getting to spend the day with my sweet kids at the hospital. I thought about my former coworkers sweating it out at the Monday morning staff meeting...a room filled with great folks doing great jobs, but they all had too much on their plate and were in a perpetual juggling act...all doing pretty much the same thing day after day, week after week... Everytime I had a stressful job like that, my weight crept up. Everytime I moved to a less stressful/more fun project job, my weight went down. I retired at or near my highest weight in 32 years. (I was blessed with a great company...one of the ways I handled stress was by overeating...that was totally on me.) I don't miss those days at all... I hope you have a blast in your new role.
