    Saturday Travel SOTN

Second travel shave with the same gear. I think I'll pull out a new Super Iridium for tomorrow night's shave. Not too bad, but a little rougher than I'd like for shave #7. Off to bed as I have to be up early in the morning and we all lose a precious hour tonight. Happy shaves all!

My First DE Shave of 2019
I am sure that my handling of DE Razors is better than it used to be , thanks for the time spent using SE Razors both Vintage & Modern. The shave went very well apart from at the last moment, as when polishing up around the chin I got a weeper.

The Shave time was similar to that I get with my favourite SEs, but the finish was perhaps not as good as those I get with my favourite Gem/ AC - SE Razors. I personally feel happier using my Vintage/Modern SE as I find the blades to be more forgiving than the thin DE blades.

    Great Shave!
The only reason i use de as apposed to se is because de blades are quite a bit cheaper and more readily available, i push my blades quite far, i get a minimum of a months worth of use per blade.

    Cold Water Wash
    PSC Caffeinated Shave Cream
    Jayaruh #220
    Henckels Rapide
    Gem Blue Star SE
    CWR
    PSC Caffeinated AS

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The PSC Caffeinated Shave Cream face lathered well with the Jayaruh #220 brush. I did two passes with the Henckels Rapide Lather Catcher razor with a Gem Blue Star SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with PSC Caffeinated AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
