March Madness!! March 16 Razor - Magic Shavette Blade - (3) Soap - Soap Commander Courage Brush - Wolf Whiskers Custom Silvertip Post - Alum Well here we go. Final night for the Zorrik blade in a shavette. We've seen that it performed without a hitch on shave one, and wasn't significantly worse on shave two. So, the theory that blades work better in a shavette due to "infinite angle" seems solid. I switched over to the Magic tonight and this is a sweet little razor. Definitely the most affordable of the three I own but it does what a shavette is supposed to do. What is that, you ask? It holds a blade in the proper position so that, with proper technique, a person can shave smoothly and cleanly without fear of blood. Using different shavettes is really just variations on a theme. One might require more or less pressure than another, but the angle is the angle in the end. Soap Commander to keep the consistent lather and the Wolf to make it. No problems there. Well, well, well, we have a change. My first pass with the blade on its third shave - is not as smooth as the last two. That "wasn't significantly worse" shave two has become "I can feel this blade giving it up" third shave. Not horrible, not unusable, but it's not the same level of comfort as yesterday and certainly not from day one. The effectiveness? Definitely not as good. I did finish all three passes and found a DFS but it's not the same level of smoothness as before. The alum? Basically quite two nights ago. A bit warm last night but nothing to worry about. Definitely starting to let me know things are getting rougher. I do believe that the lack of sharpness in the Zorrik is the real culprit in its downfall. There may not be enough of an edge, or a good enough edge, to last past a few shaves without starting to pull and tug due to blade wear. It's not the highest quality, but it also isn't the worst. A middle of the road blade that gives a poor performance in a DE over a few shaves and a mediocre shave on the third try with a shavette. I've certainly had worse. Now, there is one question that is begging to be answered. Since the middle of the road Zorrik gave three decent enough shaves, starting with a rather nice one at the beginning - how bad must a blade be before it won't even give a good shave on the first day with a shavette? Is there a blade that is so bad that it can't be made better with a shavette? There's only one way to find out. Have a great Sunday!

I really like the Earl Grey scent. A lot of B&M scents are too complex for me to figure out but this one is spot on.

SOTD Todays shave was my second with the arko shave stick, fantastic shave stick! Definitely becoming one of my firm favourites and definitely going to be in my rotation going forward. I think its time to replace that dischem brush, it lasted for about 3 months but over the last few shaves its been shedding like there's no tomorrow. I have a second dischem brush i picked up the other day as a spare, but it will probably go the same way after 3 months. My dad will be trying the credance that Tony sent me later today, he felt how soft my face was after using that stuff and asked me to help him lather so he can give it a try, its an excellent soap skincare wise! SE Sunday's Shave Cold Water Rinse Green Mountain Lime Vetiver Shaving Soap The Brush B-3 by Tom Schick E2b with Personna blade Superior Lather Catcher Sha-Vee-Zee Blue Back SE CWR Thayers Peach WH My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Green Mountain Lime Vetiver Shaving Soap face lathered well with The Brush B-3 by Tom brush. I did the first pass with a Schick E2b with a Personna blade and a clean up pass with the Superior Lather Catcher razor with a Sha-Vee-Zee Blue Back SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Peach WH. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
