Thank you- I fell for this one as it combined the Heljestrand brand with a slightly different twist on the “14” style/size. Couldn’t resist.

My hands are pretty beat up, being clumsy on the lathe has taken it toll. I have one more razor (new to me) that I'll bring out soon but it hurts to hone so I'll wait awhile.... I used an ol' reliable, already sharp razor for this mornings shave. Very nice shave using some of my remaining MdC. I was never a fan of MdC and my soap has to be years old but I might have been wrong about it. Very fine shave. Have a good one.

Shell 92 13/16 Silver Steel, a very fine razor. Soap was MdC fougere, brush was a PJ1 and Myrsol AB topped it off.

I used 0.4g of MdC yesterday, and the average is around 0.5-0.55g/shave. This means that if you load the 20mm PJ1 for 2 passes without a lot of excess, you could get 13 months out of a 200g jar of MdC using it every day.

    Happy St Patrick’s Day everyone!

    Cheers, Steve

I’m envious Steve on just how well that blade face has stayed intact. Mine’s not horrible, but not at that level. Beautiful blade.

Hey @Karl G I love those swayback English hollows. I’m going to have to dig a couple,of my own out. I have a Wosty that’s really nice, bug-bitten scales and all.

    Cheers, Steve

Just enough of a smile to make a nice difference and I love the little flair on the spine towards the toe. :happy088: Oh, and extra points for the thumb notch as well. :)

Early 8/8 Filarmonica Doble Temple 14... Vertical “14,” no Made in Spain on the reverse tang, but has the lyre on the blade face (no JMP initials).
Last minute decision as it just came off the hones - glad I did. :)
