Guy, I found the scent lovely. However I had a lot of trouble lathering it as well at the beginning and strangely enough to me it didn’t seem to be as strongly mentholated as the Spearmint or any of the other Glacials. I bought two of the Lavenders - one I used up and I gave away the other.

I agree, I found with some of the older formulas some inconsistency in batches. I only bought one of the Glacial Lavenders but two of the Glacial Spearmints and noticed a difference between the two Spearmints, one stronger than the other and both less as cold as the Lavender. Once I go throw the remaining Glacial Spearmint, I'll try the Glacial Eskimo.

The new formulations are absolutely perfect and are they ever frigid. The menthol effect is 100% equal with all of them!

Thanks for info. I have the newer formula in Bay Rum and love it.

In London for the weekend seeing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Palace Theatre so it was a cheap and cheerful shaving recipe as I am renowned for leaving 'stuff' behind in Hotels. Very effective shaves but not much for the 'feel good factor'.

Nice shave, I don't use my MDC soaps often solely due to scents, my nose enjoys other vetivers and roses in my den (I have too many roses), no rival Fougère though, great performing soap. Did a little experiment with my plates today, ran the WTG pass with the OC C plate then did half my face ATG with the OC C and then swapped in the SB D plate. Both sides were two pass BBS, both produced same result, nick-free, no burning with the alum, splash felt same both sides and post balm still felt the same. Two takeaways for me were, feel was different, the OC plates have pretty wide spacing compared to some other OC plates leaving a fair bit of lather to face the edge and while I feel the texture of the teeth, I believe the additional soap left by the gaps makes for a smoother pull. Contrast to the one step more aggressive SB plate smoother feel on the face with nominally more blade feel in the pull, it left me wondering if I want to get a OC D plate but I'm still trying the C with other blades before making that call.

Had a great shave with my new Feather club DX, one little cut below the chin :'( otherwise nearly perfect, I got feather pro blades and they are very sharp, so first time with this shavette was imo very good. I have the Kai Captain blades on order because I read they are a little better to get used to, I think after a shave or 3 the Feather pro's will be better for me. I done a two pass with the DX and touched up with my slim, hardly a hair was cut with the slim tho, for a ordainary daily shave one pass with the DX will be fine for me....but I will most likely do two coz it is soooo much fun :):)

Today's shave was with a freshly honed German made razor. Very nice 2 pass shave, that left me BBS. I used a Gillette Fatboy, the day before, and the DE shaves don't hold a candle to Straight Razor shaves. Wonderfully made Straight.

    Razor- F.W.Engels "Special".
Brush- Omega 10098 Boar. Better every time I use it.
    Soap- Arko/Sandalwood scented.
Aftershave- Shulton Old Spice. Mmmmm Mmmmmm Good.

    Monday SOTN

Too many razors and not enough shaves! I pulled out my Schick Type O Clone and a vintage schick twin blade. Wonderful slickness with the Palmolive and face lathering with the AP SHAVE CO Ruby Ripple brush. 3 passes with some buffing around the chin and jaw line for a wonderful close shave for the night shift tonight. Have a great Tuesday!
