The Type E 2 One Without the Grooves has Complete Circles..It was Known as the 1942 Model & was Cased with the 1st 20 Year Guarantee in the Year 1942 when they were being made for Military Only at the Time...There are Four Types of E 2 Injectors...Three E 2 Types Do Not Open..All the Type E 2 Injectors have a Smooth Comb..:happy088:

So @Billyfergie this is your pic of 3 of the E2 types...
What time frame do you think each had?
My WWII red case model has the middle looking spring top.

Which type of spring top did the 1942 model with the circles have?

The 1st Type E 2 Came Out Circa 1936...Probably 1936....So Probably 1936 to 1945....The Ever sharp Company Took Over in 1946 with the G Type...The Type Es were Continued in the Canadian Factory Until around 1953/1954....Hard to Pin Down the Exact Dates of the Evolving Type E 2...:D

After apparent blade failure yesterday resulted in a below par Shave , I just had to use a Razor with a Twin Blade again. What a contrast, a very smooth comfortable Shave today, not only was a really close finish attained but overall Shave time was exceedingly quick.

Another very nice shave with the VC1. As @Boru62 hinted.....the shave is similar to a GEM HFT result. I like it....but the blade modifications required would not make it a first choice from what I have available.

    Omega 11137 boar
    Tabac soap
    Personna Super Stainless
    Personna S/S [ 4 ]
    Tabac A/S Lotion

At one time I regretted opening up my minty Personna Travel Kit, as I could not get a Shave with it. A Eureka moment was when I tried it out with a Personna blade which I was not keen on. Though the Razor is a little on the light side for my taste, it has a really good amount of blade feel and I am getting smooth and comfortable Shaves with a good close finish. In fact I find it to be a far more efficient Razor than my Supply SE.

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Green Mountain Lime Vetiver Shaving Soap face lathered well with T-400 Silvertip brush. I did two passes with the Ever-Ready Little Lather Catcher razor with a Gem Blue Star SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Granddad's Blend AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
