Glastonbury was not a fav of mine. Another one of those polarizing scents. My dad had me help clean up a very dirty apartment he rented out to a hippie girl who burned incense to cover the reefer smell. I just couldn't shave with something that smelled that way. Sorry Glastonbury fans.
March Madness!! March 23 Razor - Gillette NEW LC Blade - (2) Soap - Soap Commander Courage Brush - Semogue 620 Post - Alum Round two with the NEW LC and Super Max blade. Round one went very well so we'll change up tonight and go to Soap Commander with the Semogue 620. Great lather and another nice, smooth shave. I've never had an issue with a Supermax blade that I can think of. They are made in India, though the company headquarters are in the UAE now. Vidyut and Malhatra were bought by Supermax and they now have their own carts and disposables as well. Obviously, I'm avoiding those. Three passes to a near-BBS and all's well. Quiet alum, and it was a good first day off for a short vacation. Tomorrow we are attending a play sponsored by the Jung Society and then I'm treating my wife to a find restaurant for dinner after. Should be a relaxing day. Hope you had a great Saturday and that you have an even better Sunday!
Nice! I have a box of mostly dead sheep fat on the way. Glastonbury, Electric Sheep, Port au Prince and then Island Man just because it's Spring.
You guess is as good as mine John tp Edit I see a razor that no one wants or bids on. I offer a few bucks, then give the razor a new chance to do what it was made for...shave. tp
Maybe some of us . She was eleven before I was born. Always good for a Friday shave! I was sniffing soaps just after 4 pm today trying to figure out what to use for today's lather... Almost went with Piacenza until the Gastonbury sample caught my nose. Shout out to Jared @PickledNorthern for sending the always huge Stirling Soap samples my way! While there are other places you might also, this is the best place to post that Terry!
Another unwanted razor, don't know if it is even complete, but for a few bucks. Why not? We will see when it gets here.. tp
I seem to remember having one with a handle like that. I will have to dig it up. as I recall it was like shaving with a filet knife...loved it.
March Focus off the rails Stirling Glastonbury SS sample JR @130 Cypress & Sunrise synth Suribachi bowl and cool water '55 Gillette Red Tip, GSB blade Bound & Shagged AS, Patchouli EO If Hippies shaved, this is what they would use. Thought I was wanting a Piacenza scented shave until I got to the patchouli goodness. Been up on the house over the laundry room addition patching an incorrectly applied roof. A 2/12 slope never should have had shingles. That's a roll roofing application. Had to go deep and replace four rafters & fascia, 1-1/2 sheets of plywood, laid the felt, drip edge and flashing is in place. I'm weather tight should it decide to rain and have a good forecast for tomorrow's plan of tar and the 90 lb white finish layer. Got too hot to stand on so I came in and got my inner hippy satisfied. Easy lather with tallow/lanolin/shea butter whipped up by the synth knot. Moved the GSB from the Slant to the Red Tip on inspiration from Jason @jtspartan and someone else... no complaints from lather, brush, razor or blade. Dug out the roll on applicator of Patchouli EO, and applied a couple shots of Tom's @twhite home concocted Bound & Shagged AS. The granddaughters asked for their under the ears dose of the EO, too. Good Shaves Y'all!
