March Madness!! March 25 Razor - Van der Hagen (Weishi) Blade - (1) Soap - Proraso Green Brush - Omega Pro 48 Post - Alum A bit of a return to my shaving roots tonight. My first DE razor, the Van der Hagen DE, otherwise known as the Weishi, along with the first soap I bought (other than VDH) and my first "real" brush, the enormous Omega Pro 48. I used this setup for a couple of weeks until I got my Aristocrat, then my Edwin Jagger back in the day. The only difference is the blade. Since I'm not using Russian this month I subbed in an Asco Super Stainless. We'll see how this one does for three days. It's from Lord in Egypt, maker of the Big Ben that didn't do so well a couple of weeks ago. This is a super mild razor but should be fun to run again. The big Omega brush makes lathering the Proraso both maddening and wonderful. Maddening because loading from the small Proraso tub is a challenge, but once loaded it produces bathtubs full of lather. Three passes and the baby has gone to bed and I'm irritation free and a happy camper. The blade seemed to like the mild gap on the VDH razor and they worked together to produce a very fine shave. We'll see if it holds up two more days. Hope your week got off to a great start. Here's to a happy and productive Tuesday!
Stormy night at work. Paperwork is caught up and everyone seems happy. It's a good night here in the fuzzyhood.
