We are definitely on the same wavelength. Went with Creed today as well - and love original vetiver.

*Happy to report a much better experience with the second shave, the palm stropping suggest ( @jluc , @clint64 )got me researching and encountered corking, while this was the 2nd pull on this blade sterilized it and gave it a pass each direction on cork. What I feel made the biggest difference was placing NO pressure on this razor. While I've head it said of many razors, many I have and find work best with modest to light pressure in certain areas, the SABRE needs none, with that change and a couple stroke tweaks to keep it on the cap, great shave. It is a little bit of a bear under the nostrils given the size of the head, but gets the job done.

Just received the soap/AS today and I have to completely concur with your assessment. Magnificent lather but a disappointing scent.
