I finally got it together for my April Adjustable focus on the Ultimate Adjustable Focus R21.
Third shave on GSB. - I'm noticing a slight fall off in keeness since new but should be good to keep going. I resisted 'turning it up' like I tried when the Lab Blue got me.
Stirling stuff rocks, nuff said. I love Tuscany, it is said to be a unisex scent and I can see that, just really love the smell. Max Headroom approved!
I saw some earlier discussion with
@Trigger and
@RyX on shavettes vs straights. FWIW I'm glad I went straights first 'because' they are more forgiving. On the other hand just a couple of shaves in and I have the opinion that a shavette is delivering closer shaves than the straights. I won't abandon my straights, I think the audible feedback calls me.
My tuff to get area with an open blade is to the sides of my chin, on the upper neck, right below the jaw. Simple enough to go side to center ATG with a safety. I just don't have a comfortable way to do it with an open blade instrument.
I have resorted to n/s and s/n passes while stretching from over the head with the off hand. I only 'alum-up' the fingertips for the last pass because I would have a tendency to loose control over where alum winds up.
I actually find the R21 shavette to deliver results using the pattern above second only to the Focus R48 Dynamic, but I do believe that the R21 can equal or best it with more practice.
Great shave, I'm happy.
