I did.....and as for my previous post about having trouble seeing it, I ended up covering most of the sample bottle with it, lol. THAT is a first. Now I know why it's called Deep BLUE sea. Probably good for another couple uses.
Continuing my April focus with the Ultimate Adjustable Focus R21. (In the family of plasticdoodad razors for those 'in the know'.) For today I went ahead and did an ARKOver to the Island Mahn. GSB on 4. Island Man whipped up easy with the syn tux, then I watered it 'just over to the sloshy side' in my shaving soap bowl that one would look quite ridiculous eating soup outta. I'm thinking 4 shaves is good to call it quits on this blade, it could go more, but that is not what I'm after with a shavette. Much like that perfect golf shot that draws you back, the effortless feel of a new blade in a shavette is almost intoxicating. I resisted the urge to dial up my aggression for blade wear and adjusted with extra passes. Results were the same, but 4 gentle passes instead of 3 when new. I'll be changing blade type as I move forward but 4 shaves on the GSB is good for me. Finished up with the Stirling Island Man A/S. What a delightful scent. It is only made in the spring and summer, but I use it year round. Happy Shaves. Max Headroom Reporting.
I realize you were focusing on the razors, but I was skipping forward to see if you used the Gentleman aftershave to match the soap.
Oh OK....I do enjoy your videos, so no offense to you in skipping through it. By the way, WCS is adding Karves to their arsenal, just got their e-mail.
Another April day driving my Chevette around. Loaded up half a Big Ben. These were leftover from the sample blade pack I got when I started. They have never impressed me, but I am sure that most uses were when I was developing my skill set, so I probably didn't impress them either. Went with Stirling Dunshire today. Something I had not noticed before was a similarity to my fav Stirling for Him. I'm gonna go back and forth a couple of times to further educate myself. I kinda did this with Stirling Blu. I recall a negative review on the Stirling website where the comment was that SfH was merely Stirling Blu relabeled, nah! Run of the mill Stirling lather.... Awesome! As always. These boar brushes really can churn up a lather. Glad I got one. The Big Ben is a capable blade, I thought that a third use GSB topped this new. One could get more shaving with it but for me it's a one and done. Next up probably Astra. Smeared on some Lucky Tiger Face tonic. Nice stuff that somebody here at TSD recommended saying I'd thank him later. I don't remember who it was, but, Thank You! Topped it off with Dunshire A/S. Smell good - Long time. I really do like this Focus R21 Shavette. I tried to get a photo that shows the recessed blade and corner guards. I have not tried another shavette and not sure I will. Shave free. Max Headroom reporting.
My next of the sample aftershaves will be Agar-to see how it works with The Soap Exchange Lumberjack. Now that I have gravitated to shaving with my glasses on, it'll be easier for me to operate the Agar(and the others later) so I can hopefully get just the right amount on.
Continued bombing around in my Chevette for April. I was focusing on how nice an automatic was in traffic. I totally blamed the clutch in my manual for traffic jams. And, none of that actually has anything to do with shaving. Trumpers as a pre-shave Stirling for Him soap Focus R21 Shavette Astra green (1) Trumpers - again Stirling for Him A/S Don't know why, but I never cared for Astras. I couldn't figure it out because of their popularity. They always delivered a good shave and today was noexception. Finished up good as a GSB. Maybe the popularity had something to do with the demand for some of these Russian blades. Roportedly, loaded caravans of these were making repeated deliveries into the Saint Louey area. Yup, Stirling Fans Stirling for Him still wins over Dunshire. They are close. SfH is cleaner/fresher to me. Be using one of my Sunday Shavers tomorrow, then test the duration of Astra for me. Be well and shave free.
Two wonderful shaves yesterday and today with Stirling products. The Dunshire scent yesterday was terrific and Glacial Lemon Chill with the Kong brush was a great way to get the day going today.
I see the LC was/is an aftershave. I'm giving more attention now aftershaves when it comes to those "iced" Stoylin products. I don't have any currently. but it appears to me they are what is best needed during that time of year(that is, compared to iced soaps).
Lemon Chill is an aftershave and a soap scent. It’s certainly cold and smells strongly of lemons. I really like it.
Right, I knew it came as both, but as I say, it's time for me to go to the aftershave, when it comes to something cold. The "lasting impression" thing, I guess.
