Friday evening April 5 - Fat Friday and Rule shave #22 Delta Echo refurbished Gillette Fatboy on 4 / Rapira Swedish Supersteel (3) Simpsons CH2 Chubby Synthetic Bristles brush MWF/Kent in beechwood tub Alum and Thayers Witch Hazel Original and Polar Ice Booster splash My usual Rule setup allowed me to be fashionable for Fat Friday, with The Fat lathered by a Chubby brush and then cleaned off by a Fatboy razor. Doing my usual two passes, I somehow missed a small patch of whiskers on the side of my jaw. I noticed it as I was cleaning up, so I splashed on a bit of witch hazel and used that as a lubricant for a clean-up pass before moving on to my normal AS. Overall result DFS+ with no irritation. (And I just realised I forgot the alum rub today... Oh well...) Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Thank you, Jason! Like all Gillette English TTO, the mechanism is definitely smoother than the Ranger Tech. This razor is also a bit heavier in the head. They both shave very smoothly and are fun to use. The blade feel is similar between the two.
I have this coming in from the Bay. I am hoping it is solid brass. If it is I'll tape off the knot and bead blast it to match the finish on the Karve. I may have to re-knot it but the knot may shape up after being washed and hung upside down to dry.
