    jimjo1031 never bloomed myself

I recently got these two, a Wade & Butcher Extra Hollow Ground and a J. R. Torrey Our 136. I know of the manufacturers, but not the models. I don't see any chips, mostly dirt. Any help on information of these razors would be appreciated, thanks.

I've been in Billings for the last week or so helping get my wife's Aunt ready to move into an assisted nursing facility. This is my wife's Grandfather's shaving stuff which was given to me. He was born in 1900 and I guess to put things into perspective me and my wife just turned 66. The razors are A Novelty Cutlery (left) and an Easy Aces (Genco) plus a Craftsman Combination Razor Hone and an Illinois A175, Alaskan Seal Skin strop. Not pictured is a Gem razor and some WWI era memorabilia from a Great Uncle.

I lucked out on this one. The seller had very poor pics, again, which resulted in low bidding. It turned out to be NOS, with the grease still on it. It still had the factory edge on it too, which is very very sharp, but not trustworthy. It set me back $14.50 total.

YUP. It's not like they are the big named custom jobs. Just a few little lost razors, needing a good home.

This was a Buy it Now/Make Offer buy, on Ebay. The seller took $22.00, which surprised me. It looks like it has no hone wear, and the blueing on the tang has almost no wear. Very very slight tarnish, on the blade.

Some flea market gold in today mail-call. Actually green and gold. A picker friend scored these over the weekend, texted me a picture, and got them in the mail. A Puma Gold and a Otto Deutsch “HANS”, both in wonderful, like new condition. The Puma is a looker, deep butterscotch scales and still sporting the logo etch on the blade. The Hans has no signs of being sick, the dark emerald scales are perfect. Always wanted a clean O.D.H. and the Puma will have a nice life in the cat house with lots of company.

Great acquisition. Puma is on my wish list.

Be careful with that Puma. The scales are cracked at the pivot end. If it was mine, I wouldn't try to tighten the blade in the scales, or test it too much, until I found a way to stabilize the cracks. Perhaps clean the scales really well, with soapy water, and a soapy water soak, to get all the oils out of that area. Rinse well, let dry, and add a little CyanoAcetate, not the thick stuff, to the cracked area. Hopefully it will creep into the cracks. Then let it cure several days. It might be enough to strengthen it some.
