Brushes are next, Jim! I have a couple in the drawer that need to be Pif'ed (+1 given to a friend) and I'm going to try to adhere to keeping 12 in the rotation, plus a Semogue boar kept in the trailer at the lake.
Congrats Gary! That is a beautiful setup and a great shave! Wow, great shot Danny! Awesome photo Jim, that really cleaned up well! How was it shaving with a weightless razor? Beautiful shot Clint! I really like the Oleo canard base too! You got a steal, Danny! great news Jason and beautiful shot!
Congrats, Clint, for surviving the tax season. I can't think of too many tasks I enjoy less. I'm glad we have pros like you to help us. Have a fantastic day, my friend.
Good luck, Randy. I'd appreciate seeing a list of your keeper soaps. You've done a lot of research, and it would be nice to see your conclusions. I look forward to seeing your custom straight razor holder. Enjoy your day, my friend. See? I can be nice.
Thank you Charlie. I hate working on taxes actually but it pays the bills. I guess that is why I put mine off to the last minute.
April 12 Good afternoon guys! Just finished shaving my head and face. I normally don't report shaving my head, but I did something different by using 2 different soaps and razors for the shaves. Shaving Head: I decided to use my N4 Slim (9) and Williams soap. I don't recall using Williams for headshaving, but if I did, then it was some time ago. I decided to use my Omega 49 boar for both my head and face shave. I used the Williams straight and got a decent lather. Did my 3 passes and touchups and got my usual BBS for my head. Went straight for the Aqua Velva AS to finish. Face: I decided to make it VDH all the way, using the company's razor, blade and its luxury soap. I made this selection because I have very little stubble from last night's great straight razor shave 19 hrs ago. The VDH razor is mild so it will do a nice job on my "peach fuzz". However, I am going out this evening to celebrate a friend's birthday and wanted to be clean shaven through and through. As usual, I got a BBS shave with 2 passes and minor touchup. Finished with Stirling's Barbershop PSB sample packet. Have a nice day, fellas! PS, I have each razor next to the soap that was used for the separate shaves because the soaps are not in identifiable tubs.
Jason, it has been fun following your exploits with the Old Type. I'm glad you're getting some resolution from Simpson. If I owned the company, I would have sent you a brand new brush and an explanation regarding what is being done to prevent this from happening again. At the prices they charge, they should be the leader in quality and customer responsiveness. Simpson should realize that news travels fast in the online wet shaving world. The last time I checked, they had a few competitors selling top tier brushes at a fraction of their cost.
Thank you, Andrew! The razor did clean up nicely. Thanks again. After the first couple of strokes the lack of weight really didn't enter my mind. I keep a very light grip on all my razors. It seems to help with keeping the pressure down on the working end of the razor. Unless the razor has very good knurling I need alum on my fingertips to keep the razor from slipping. The Star is so light it's easy to maintain a light grip without the need for alum. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Thanks Clint! I am going to see the NY tenor Danny Rodriguez. He was the NY policeman who sang God Bless America at Yankee Stadium right after 9/11.
Thank you, Jim! You can YouTube Daniel Rodriguez and listen to his awesome voice. @Primotenore, you may want to check him out as well.
