Pretty much, there are still things that come up every nite and then but for the most part I am comfortable with my duties. Sent from my Galaxy using Tapatalk
SOTD April 12th Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap EDRIO #48 Schick Adjustable Injector (10) Schick Proline B20 (2) Paladin Chief (26mm, Frigate Class) Stirling Electric Sheep shave sick RazoRock Amici AS My final test in the battle of the knots. Full face lather using my homemade Stirling Electric Sheep soap stick. The knot in this Paladin had no scritch, the tips are soft, but not as soft as the gel tips in the Maggard SHD. Good backbone and flow through but less splay resistance then the SHD. All in all this is a really great feeling knot but is really blown away by the SHD. Excellent creamy, cushiony, slick lather from the Electric Sheep and the whiskers were wiped away effortlessly by the Proline in the early Schick Adjustable. Finished with RR Amici to stay in the citrus train and just because I really love this scent. Have a great weekend my friends! TGIF! Sent from my Galaxy using Tapatalk
Thanks, Charlie. I try to be a glass-half-full type of chap, and don't want to beat this up any more over a sticker! Yes I was definitely perturbed over the obvious mistake, but am good with just a new one I can straighten. Overall, I think differently than most folks about brushes, probably based on my ability to make the handles myself. I really give no value to a generic Simpson handle, and in fact would buy knots only if available. I have been enjoying synthetic knots lately and have seen many positive reviews of the CH2 from folks on here whose opinions I have high regard for, so I got one. It is an excellent knot. The sticker thing upset me, and they apparently have rectified it. I am good with that. I would also have easily never conducted business with them again if they did not contact me or assume responsibility. I see Shavemac is making hand-tied Synthetic knots now. I would like one, but won't bother until they sell them as knots only. Again, the shavemac handle has little to no value for me. Have a great weekend, friend. Packing this weekend?
Great photo and knot reviews, Andrew. Very informative. On Logan's pic, I hope you paid for the bunny ears... have a great weekend!
TGIF!!! Terrific picture of Logan! The Wednesday and Friday pics of your sons never fail to make me smile. Thank you, Andrew. The urge to pick up a high end brush is diminishing with every one of your SHD knot comparisons. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Thanks Jason. I appreciate your perspective on shaving brushes. It's only a brush after all. Yes, we are well on our way to getting everything packed. Our mover came over today for a walk through. Everything seems to be coming together, and we've been blessed to have had a good experience all the way around. We have our closing date set on the new house (May 2) and are working toward closing on our current home in mid-May. Thanks for asking. Have a great weekend, my friend.
I use riding the cap as a starting point and go from there. So in reality I don't ride the cap on any DE or SE razor.
Not a clue. Just what he said for Techs... I ride the cap with many of my razors Sent from my EML-L09 using Tapatalk
