The Maggard's brown (synthetic horse hair) has to be one of my all time favorites. The ends are mink soft and the color compliments many handles. I've used it in a few of my brushes and always feels like a major upgrade.

I restored this brush for the 2019 TSD raffle.

Restored with a 22mm synthetic horse hair. I believe the black is bakelite and it turn out to be a beautiful brush.

I'm not sure the brand, but I can faintly see Pure Badger and Made in USA, on the bottom. Definitely the shape of an Ever Ready "bobber" style.




I removed the knot and bored it out accept a 24mm flat top Tuxedo. The handle is a solid material, maybe acrylic.

A pleasing little brush.

The Flat Top goes well with the handle, great choice.

Let me start of by saying; No, I haven't given up on brush restorations, I just needed to give some extra attention to my family, their health and to my own health as well.

I was contacted by @brit to put together a little different and beautiful; and to quite honest ... I think I pulled it off.

I started off with a NOS Opal.



@brit wanted a 2 banded badger to replace the french boar, so I found a wonderful 24mm and installed it. Then gave it a couple good lathers to remove the typical badger funk.



And finished off with a amazing bloom!

Recently @Swampfox wanted an Ever Ready 150 restored back to a 24mm boar.

Polished, weighted and re-knotted; a vast improvement from its beginnings. I re-lettered it and was able to save 95% on the front and about 45% on the back.
