That’s really cool, Danny! 1915 was the year my grandfather was born down in Silver Hill, Alabama in Baldwin County.
Thank you Fuzzy! If it wasn't weird we'd have less to discuss. Gumbo. Another good use for hot sauce.
Paul, let me clue you in on lower NY geography. Long Island is considered Nassau County and Suffolk County by us Downstaters. However, Brooklyn (Kings County) and Queens County is geographically part of Long Island, but are 2 of the five boroughs of NYC. The other 3 are, Da Bronx ( that's how we say the Bronx), Staten Island which is south of Manhatten, west of Brooklyn and east of New Jersey, and of course Manhattan which is NYC proper.
I guess I knew some of that. It just never occurred to me that the moment you leave those counties(or whichever is the westernmost)you are immediately in Upstate.
Great photos fellas, no pic from me again today. I did have a great shave today. Razors: ball end teck for my head, blackbeauty set to 9 for ma face Shave cream: Barbasol Pacific rush Post shave balm & alum 2 pass dfs all around a little burn from the alum under my chin, but not to bad. I am loving the teck for my head shave, it does not catch on the couple of moles that are on my head. I am liking the bb set to 9 for my face, one wtg pass and I am almost dfs, a second pass xtg and I am at ibss. I need to concentrate on getting my neck better, I just cannot get it as smooth as I would like while still staying irritation free. Once I get the hair direction down it should improve.
Day 100. So there it is. 100 straight razor shaves. Seems like less of a magic number now. More of a checkpoint than a destination. The change since #1 is pretty significant though. My lower neck remains my last challenge. Other than that, I'm getting as good or better shaves than with a safety razor. And none of my learning experiences involved a trip to the ER! Did I just jinx myself? I wanted the best possible lather for this one, snd that could only mean one thing: Electric Sheep! And everything came together for maybe the best shave of the 100.
Technically, Westchester County is the beginning of Upstate NY. West Point on the Hudson is Upstate. Albany, the capital of NY is upstate. 95% of NY is considered Upstate.
Thanks Perry, interesting that it is the same year as your grandfather's birth year. Thanks Gary...this is the oldest Alabama plate I have seen.
