Thank you, Charlie. I looked around, but didn't see any shaving stuff at all. I did find an antique shop, but it was all home furnishings.
April 15th '51 Canadian Tech w Astra SP (1) APShaveCo Flattop/Sapele handle Palmolive Menthol SC Thayers Barrister's Reserve Cool AS I tried, albeit superficially, to keep up with the thread this weekend and failed miserably. I'll try to pick up the conversations from this morning forward. Pulled out some Menthol Monday software this morning and am rolling with the neglected Tech for a few more days. This really is a nice cream- wonderful performance and a subtle, menthol-type scent. More heavily mentholated than Proraso Green, fwiw. 3 passes later and I am fairly smooth. The humble Tech does its best, but would need some more buffing to get completely smooth on my lower neck. First world problems. The Reserve Cool is a favourite and is a nice complement to the cream. I'm flying to Vancouver tonight for a one day meeting and then home tomorrow night. Won't be there long enough to check a bag, so it looks like I'll be carting it. Good times. Have a great day, all!
Very nice! Thanks for the kind mention. @Trigger wrote a post yesterday that caused the discussion between us, however, the advice is something that @Keithmax really emphasized to me when I was learning. Slow and deliberate cutting strokes is the way to go with any new razor.
Concur! Another note--long stokes often do not maintain precise control over attack angle, and this handicaps the quest for bbs.
Great menthol Monday products, Jim. An awesome Green photo as well. More Proraso love this morning. I'm sensing a trend here... you don't see many mentions of the Minora blade on here, Jim. Do you like it? Yup, a full on Proraso Green love in is well underway... great combo, Charlie. Glad to hear things went well in Louisiana, Blair. Love the spalted handle on that brush as well. Very cool. If you consider Arko to have an 'OK' fragrance, I'd like to hear what you consider a 'poor frangrance'... Very nice combo and write up, Joseph. Interesting that the EdT doesn't match at all. I wonder why they would do that. Greenery! We had frost this morning after a miserable old, rainy day yesterday. That's another stunner regardless, Clint!
