The aftershave is made be Alpa in Czech Republic. Good stuff. It has glycerine, allantoin, light menthol. And alcohol. Lots of alcohol. Alpa loads up the alcohol in their aftershaves. I had a bottle of Alpa Farao once that listed it as 70%! This stuff doesn't give the percentage but it's listed first. Scent is decent, but pretty light to my nose. Here's a vendor with descriptions you can read: https://pomadeshop.com/en/brands/dapper-dan/dapper-dan-grooming/822/dapper-dan-after-shave-green There is a UK based Dapper Dan too, but I don't know whether there is any connection. Different logo and graphics, and a more limited product line. No shaving soap or aftershave. www.dapper-dan.eu dapperdanuk.com
Awesome Chris! Thanks! It won't be too long before I "detour" back to the shavette. Only a couple of days away from it and I'm starting to miss it already.
April 18th Razorock Black Hawk w Feather Pro (1) Castle Forbes Lime SC TGN Finest/Maple handle Thayers CL Bon Vivant AS Switched up to the Blackhawk this morning. I don’t know if I’d call it neglected per se, but I haven’t used it since giving it a 7 day run right after it came in at the beginning of March. Put in a fresh Feather Pro as well. I grabbed the cream that recently came from @Keithmax, smeared some on my face and went to town on a nice lather. The scent is strong and nice and a quality product. Straight up natural lime to my admittedly lousy nose. I probably could have loaded a little more, but had enough for 3 passes. I usually get no burn at all from this AS, and got some this morning, so I suspect that even though I see no red that my neck is a little raw with this fresh Feather artist club. Does the Bon Vivant match perfectly? Nope. Is there enough citrus in the splash to keep the train moving? Yup. Have a great day all!
They certainly hold your technique accountable. They also quickly punish improper technique with blood. Get it right, and the shaves are nothing less than delightful. As much as I enjoy using my other razors, there's just something so rewarding using an open blade.
I'll PM you my address for the brush on the left. Congrats, Danny! Great job on the brushes. Both are beautiful.
Thanks Bruce....let me get a few more under my belt and I will probably start to hand a few out. They are fun to turn and I can see these things accumulating fast. I have a design in mind that I would like to focus on but I need to make a jig for the lathe. It is not a ground breaking design and it already out there from the brushmakers but I need the jig to get the right look. Take care.
John, it sounds like you have inside information or you are very knowledgeable in the manufacturing histories of razor companies.
Perry awesome shave, report and pic! Is the Stirling British Leather, a dupe of English leather cologne?
