I cannot figure out how to post a picture on this web site. When I click on the icon to post a picture it wants a URL address. I just want post a picture from my computer. How do I do it.
If the image is local (on your computer) then beneath the box where you type in your post, there's a button <upload a file>. Press this, locate your image, double click, etc. and you're good to go. Otherwise, if the image is remote (on a website) you can either hit the image button (the little tree) and type in the pictures url or you can just right click on the image, copy image, paste image into your post. And... Welcome to the Den!
Unfortunately, you can't. If you host the pic on another site, such as Photobucket, you can link to the pic through PM, though.
Okay I'm back with a new question about posting a picture. I haven't posted a picture in awhile here. When I try to post a picture I get a message saying the file is too big. What do I need to do?
How do we get our pics to display inline with the post instead of as a thumbnail in the attached item box?
I just came across this suggestion. http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/trouble-posting-pictures-with-forum-threads.31688/
@shave/brush Here is how to do it if you do not want to go through another service such as Flickr or Photobucket. Go to more options and then select upload file. Then select your file and then select full image. Do not select thumbnail.
I currently use an Android app called Lit Photo. It's free. It does exactly two things: compress and crop. I haven't tried the crop, but the compress works well for me.
It doesn't give me the option of full size or thumbnail. It just says choose a file and after I do it says file too big.
Ok. Now to figure that out. Normally I'd have one of my sons come show me but we're following the social distancing guidelines strictly due to my situation. I'll get it done sooner or later.
