Two days' growth easily removed with a common bar handled NEW Long Comb loaded with a Gillette Yellow that I received from John Ruschmeyer (thanks John) . A truly great blade now on it's fifth shave and still going strong. Brush was a Semogue 610. Lather was the incredibly slick but perpetually dissipating modern Williams mug soap puck. Lather whole face, shave the left side, rinse the razor and look back in the mirror and there's no lather on my face. Re-apply......rinse razor.....no lather on my neck......re-apply.....etc. Lame. Aqua Velva Classic Ice Blue for the finish. I've really tried to succeed with the Williams. Have read every thread about it and every post from every expert and lover of the soap. Have tried boars and synths, dry brushes, soaked brushes, blooming the puck, not blooming the puck, puck in an Old Spice mug, making lather in a Captain's Choice bowl, heavy loaded brush, lotsa water, hardly any water, distilled water, hot water, cold water, wet face, towel dry face, and facing 22 degrees due North while listening to "Carry On My Wayward Son" and nada. Is it the water hardness? The chlorine? What gives with this stuff? I just don't get the love for this product. Once upon a time the original formula was probably great but I'm not into procuring the old stock. It's a shame because I love the presentation, the scent and the slickness. But can't stand having to re-apply it every time I look away from the mirror and the feeling like I've got to race through my shave in some grooming version of "beat the lather clock". If anyone's got the definitive method for making modern Williams work every time.....please let me know.

The Amalfi Basil Lemon Shave Soap face lathered well with Jayaruh #331 Boar brush. I did two passes with the Gem Jr. Bar Lather Catcher razor with a vintage Gem Cutlery SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Pinaud Vanilla AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Good morning guys, My South African themed shave: Clean & Clear Facial Wash Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster Wilkinson Long Handle/Rapira day 4 Simply Bee SS Fino ASB English Leather AS Splash Such a fabulous, super close, comfortable shave which was so enjoyable from start to finish - the Simply Bee soap is always a pleasure to lather up with, its scent is mild, yet very nice, and the skincare is so soothing as well as moisturizing. The Fino balm is another godsend for sensitive skin - another big thanks to my dear friend Dave for sending it to me. The English Leather aftershave actually smells very nice and after the initial sting it feels great. Wishing you all a wonderful Easter Sunday!
