Menthol Monday's Shave


Cold Water Rinse

Jayaruh #343 Synthetic

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Fine Snake Bite Shave Soap face lathered well with Jayaruh #343 Synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Ever-Ready 1909 razor with a Vintage Gem Cutlery SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Coate’s Almond Cream today. 10 seconds to load the Henri et Victoria High Mountain White brush. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Gillette 7-O’Clock Blue SP still in the Gillette NEW SC. Excellent smooth, close, shave. I finished with Clubman Whiskey Woods aftershave.

After using the mild Seygus Zeppelin for four days I thought I'd use my favourite mild DE for comparison.
With no excessive buffing required under the jawline, and a very good DFS+ achieved effortlessly, the Wilkinson Sword Sticky continues to be my favourite mild DE.

After this shave I can hardly feel my face because of this menthol bombardment. The Kameelperd did one hell of a number on me and the scent of coffee with peppermint smelled up my bathroom big time. After my soothing massage with the Prep cream a few dabs of the Arctique turned my face into an ice block. BBS as could be and did it feel great!

My bride found this SS at a local farmers market this past weekend. Turns out to be a nice product, gave good protection/slickness and is a real face freezer to boot. Very limited availability right now, just the market and one other local location. But my face is happy. Now go enjoy your day folks

Thanks, Tim and the handle is a synthetic resin of a faux Briarwood, so it will always have that shine, really. I don't do anything to keep it looking new.

Damn good shave. The soap is as labeled, there is a burn on the skin ( I dig it ) and the scent is spot on as if I’m sniffing a mug full of cider. The razor shaves smooth and the blade feels great.

A very welcome result with this toy looking thing-a- ma- jig. So easy and smooth with a slight touch up with the electric razor i use for my head. Very close to a BBS, God love you all, happy camper here, Bill.

 

Rotbart Mond Extra/BIC. Although an Old Type copy this example has a lot more blade feel than my Gillettes and thus demands considerably more attention, especially with the sharp second use BIC.

I wonder how it would feel with 2 blades. There’s a couple of razors that with 2 blades smooth it out
