At the risk of repeating an earlier post, I'm always pleased to see Bigelow products shown. Bigelow was the first name of a distant relative on my Mom's side..everyone called her "Biggy".
What base is your Murphy & McNeil? What I have used I have been very pleased with. I like the scent and the performance of what I have used and would buy it again. If Arko smells better then this stuff must really stank.

Tuesday morning April 23 - Rule shave #29 Delta Echo refurbished Gillette Fatboy on 4 / Rapira Swedish Supersteel (1) Simpsons CH2 Chubby Synthetic Bristles brush MWF/Kent in beechwood tub Alum and Polar Ice Booster splash I moved the Fatboy back to my favourite dial number 4 again after last shave's wide open 9. Much the same result for my two passes -- from stubble beard to DFS without any irritation. Both my face and my brush were a tiny bit drier than usual when I started today, so the lather was a bit too pasty at first and became dry and sticky halfway through the first pass. I simply stopped and splashed a bit of water on my face to moisten things up. That worked. I then rinsed my face dripping wet between passes and the second set of lather was just right. Looking at my tub today, the space at the top is much deeper than it was when I started this Rule. I think my puck of MWF is somewhere between a third and a half gone now. When I revert to using it for Fat Friday shaves, it will barely last me another two years now...
Took the day off from work to drive my son back to school after the Easter weekend, and catch my breath before getting back to the salt mine. I used my VB Emperor Augustus for the first time. Easily the mildest of my adjustables, though just one shave in I can't make any firm decisions. Very nice build quality, nice grip on the handle, very nice weight to it. I started on 5 and quickly moved to 6 then 6.5. Good shave with the Personna blade, not the closest I've had, but for a brand new razor I'm getting to know, way more than acceptable. I followed this up with my second use of the Pinaud Citrus Musk. I like the scent, just find it very mild and quite short-lasting. I think the reason is simply that it's not an aftershave, it's a cologne and acts as such. Will keep it for a quick splash before heading out somewhere for an hour or two, but certainly not an all-day or even quarter-day aftershave. C
