Has anyone ever experienced a Zamak razor failure? I understand it's possible, but I haven't. And I do prefer the added weight of my SS razors. Like most of you, I take care of my razors. I expect my R41 head to outlast me. Does anyone else feel the same way, or are you content being wrong?
Very good James! But, once you master a razor, MHO you will be the master of all. I would recomend just storing your other razors. But it is your chioce. Good luck! tp
Wrong?? Wrong?? I have razors that will out last me, that have already outlasted others, they are plastic and bakelite. I would think zamak will be here for a rather long time. Me on the other hand...... tp
Joseph, I think you have soap granule curse. I have only seen granules once. To rid your self of this curse use just Castle Forbes, Tabac AoS tallow for a month, for the last shave use Arko and you will be free of this curse. I had a similar experience, I chavsed every new DE razor looking for something better. Nothing could beat my 2011 R41 but like you I was worried about the zamac failure. I finally got over my zamak fear, I never had one fail and came to accept that the 2011 R41 on a heavy handle is my favorite DE. Then again the R41 was my gateway drug to straights. Now I buy razors just because they look cool, with any aggressive razor I can get a great shave.
I think the Zamak-thing is hogwash. If you take care of your tools, they will take care of you. Basta.
Aqua Velva is on The Max Headroom List of Most Glorious Stanks. Dad always wore it. Loved the smell. If it were new today and had the right connections, it could probably be sold at much higher prices.
Sounds like a great plan, James. Personally, I don't worry about pot metal vs alloy and just get a razor that works.
