SOTD April 24, 2019 Schick G1 Nivea Body Shaving stick Speick aftershave No time for a photo. 14 hour workday yesterday. This morning I need an oil change in my car, then we're going to see two houses, I'm getting a hair cut, and then hitting the road to Huntsville, Alabama for the All-State Band Festival. I'll be there until Saturday afternoon. Unfortunate timing with all that has to be done at our house, but I can't help it. Thankfully my mother-in-law has been here helping us and is a worker bee. She's kept everything on a great time table. Certainly thankful for that. Have a great day!
Thanks, Perry! If I have the motivation when I get home from work this evening I'll grate my puck of Mitchell's and give that a go. Thanks for the tip. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
You're a busy guy, Perry. Have fun at the Band Festival. Safe travels my friend. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Thank you, Jim! It's like this every April. Very busy month each year, but our house move has added an extra layer of complication. I'll make it!
April Focus Williams~~Rooney~~Portland~~Floïd SR #67 Finally got the stank out of my skin and clothes. Phew! What an ordeal!!! Returned to shaving's roots with a "barbershop" special. M-Bombed (and bloomed, naturally) vintage Williams led off and together with the newly-acquired and still somewhat funky-smelling Rooney (which further leads me to believe that this brush was never used. Look at that label, it's has zero fading nor abrasion), garnished a lovely and chilling lather. Hear that Jeff? This one's for you @Yehuda D The Portland 1905 (thank you again @Paul76 ) has a terrific edge (thanks to @gssixgun ) (I feel like I am giving an acceptance speech at the Oscars...) and, without any major skin removal, left my adorable face as smooth as silk. Alum, Thayer's and finally, the king of barbershop aftershaves... Floïd Blue. Much better......
April 24 SOTD: Razor: Gillette 1911 Single Ring Blade: Rapira Swedish Super Steel Brush: PAA The Green Ray Lather: Grooming Dept After the Fire Aftershave: Chatillon Lux Unconditional Surrender Another terrific shave with the SR. Two passes and DFS. Wha else could your really ask? The GD soap is just terrific in terms of performance. The scent is OK, although not my favorite. It also hangs around for a while. I can get whiffs of it through the Unconditional Surrender. All in all, a great start to my day. I hope everyone has a great day!
That would be a good idea. I have soft water so it is not that bad. I have heard that some folks dip their razors into alcohol to displace the water. Take care Terry!
Great looking shaves everyone! No shave yesterday, by the time I was done with all I had to do it was late and I was tired. I did get a lot accomplished yesterday. I grouted the shower in my master bathroom and had the tires changed on my wifes car. Listing it now it does not seem like much, but grouting the shower took a lot of the morning and early afternoon. Going to do the floor in there today after going to home depot and getting more grout the same color. No one in town had any.
My mechanic was already full this morning with a 90 minute wait, so I had to skip the oil change. Then I swung into Hardee's next door to bring some breakfast back home. They totally messed up the order. So, the day has begun with some challenges!
