A thread about the celebration of blade hoarding opens the flood gate for derailment opportunities. But seriously, I'm concerned that some gents here are living on the edge with less than 1000 blades in storage.
Derby usta blades are much better than the other Derby blades(Premium and Extra). They are sharper and also comfortable for sure. The shavers in Turkey like these blades mostly. It is a good sign because people in Turkey usually have tough beards and hate Derby Extra blades. The new Derby is generally reviewed as a good blade.
They're not bad. I prefer them in my Krona, along with my Platinum Lux. I'm definitely going to try other blades, as there are more I'd like to try, and some I want to retry. Even though I said I won't support P&G, I'm going to try Polsilver and GSBs again. It doesn't seem fair to take it out on a foreign part of their company, and the russsians didn't have anything to do with the commercial, but that's like picking at an old wound.
Here’s my rundown of blades I currently own and use. Not keeping count of blade totals but I’d hazard a guess that I have about 1500-2000 blades or more. Voskhod Ladas Gillette Silver Blue Feather Kai Lord SS Sputnik Rapira SS Rapira Platinum Lux Gillette 7 O’Clock SS Bolzano Gillette Platinum Rockwell Swedish Steel Shark SS Big Ben Polsilver Gillette Nacet
This may be a dumb question, but all of the blades we talk about on this website for wet shaving, none of them rust, correct?
If a blade has not been used and is stainless steel it should be fine. The carbon steel blades are a lot easier to rust I would think.
Most of the blades currently in production are stainless steel, so no worry about them rusting or deteriorating. There are some carbon steel blades that you have to be careful with though.
Feeling better today I thought I would inventory my blades. I'm glad I did, looks like I'm getting low on Feathers, I just bought 200 but I'm lower than I thought I was. I also like to keep my blades in the original package, if possible. Some blades I use, some I have grown out of. But in general If I get a few hundred more Feathers I'm good for a while. tp
You can’t go wrong with Voskhod! Just got my first shave in with sharks good shave even better value.
Voskhod first on the list to order. Using Astra green now but I want a variety. Rapira was also recommended, Shave nation has 3 types but not the lux
Hey Rob Sharks and Voskhod are about the same to me. Derby I have a hard time with, not as sharp as I like, my wife likes them to shave her legs. tp
