My first order from The Gentle Shave and I must say I'm impressed. Ordered less than five hours ago and USPS is already in possession of my new brush. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
No photo again today. Not much really new, either. Used the Haslinger marigold again. Still doesn't seem any closer than when I decided to use it up.... I did 3.5 passes with the Gravjura straight razor, two swipes with the injector. I had a couple of weepers, but overall comfortable and smooth. I'll take it.
21 years? Holy crap! Yeah, do whatever you need to do to keep that one going. You'll never find another that lasts that long
Joseph, that's a great shave and report. I know that everyone has different experiences going to a larger width. I did not have a problem going from 5/8 to 6/8 the first time. I just psyched myself and pretended it was a 5/8 blade. To be fair, I didn't have a problem to shave under my small probiscus. In fact, I didn't have a problem with my 7/8 and 15/16 straights the first time. Like I mentioned earlier, everyone has different experiences. You have done very well straight razor shaving that you will be comfortable using your 6/8 Best Quality.
Grah, almost 200 post behind again. Thanks to all for the shave report comments. I'm hoping you find it to be a decent low cost "entry level" pain stick. Is this one that requires the special blades that aren't Schick type, or 1/2DE's?
I'm not a big of gambling either. Even less of a fan of weasels who try to make it sound innocuous by calling it "gaming." But there are a few other things there that I'd do if I found myself in Vegas. If you've never seen Cirque du Soleil, then you owe it to yourself to check them out. And doesn't Blue Man Group have a running gig there?
I love my Omega Pro 49 boar brush. It is broken in and is very soft with a nice backbone. Also, it was very inexpensive.
