I ordered four different woods for brushes. I usually get 1.5x1.5 x12. I made a mistake ordering this stick of osage orange. I ordered 1x1x12. Well, it would normally be too small to make a brush handle with, but I got creative. I decided to make a small travel brush with it. I have a 20mm Tuxedo type synthetic knot coming for this brush. It should be here by Monday.

I am making it the size of this made in England boar brush from my 1930s travel kit.

This is a shape I have used on several brushes. It is done with hand tools and a Dremel without a lathe.

I had to look up what "Osage Orange" was. We just called it a Horse Apple tree, as kids. We used to the fruit(several pounds each) and throw at each other, and also feed them to the horses. Fun times, as a kid.

I have an early Jayaruh that Jim says was made before he got a lathe. This stubby chubby was actually the ferrule of a larger handle at one time. He's a master with or without a lathe.

Well, you just joined Doc Ezlovan as people here whose names I thought were pronounced differently than they actually are. You closed with "Jay-arra"..always thought it was "Jay-a-Roo". (With Doc Ezlovan, I had no idea it is E..Z...Luvin..always thought it was EZ-lo-VAN). By the way, nice video :).
