Arko Adjustable April April 25 Razor - 1972 (S2) Gillette Super Adjustable (Black Beauty) (9) Blade - (2) Soap - Arko Brush - The Canuck Post - Alum Last look at the Super Adjustable, or Black Beauty for the month. My "newest" Gillette adjustable and I like it more every time I use it. I love the long handle. Gives a great grip and ease of use while holding angles etc. I'm not sure if this razor has a bigger gap at 9 than the Slim and Fatboy but it feels like it. Seems a little more of the blade is out there and it gives a great shave even though it has that kind of "watch out" feel to it. The Canuck with the SynBad knot did a fantastic job. If you don't have a SynBad knot make sure you come to the meet-up....oh wait....I'm not supposed to say that yet. Anyway.......... The baby is here, I'm a happy camper and we're 5 days away from MAYhem!
April 25, 2019 Razor: Gillette Sheraton Blade: 7 o'Clock Permasharp Stainless Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22 Soap: Williams Post: Alum, Listerine, WH Behind once again. Let's see, Tuesday was the Schick L1 with a Japanese Twin. I was a bit lazy this morning, so I just grabbed the nearest DE with a blade in it, the Sheraton. I've lost count of how many shaves are on this blade and I could tell that the two-days growth was challenging it a bit, but I honestly can't say that anything was unpleasant and I certainly can't fault the result. We'll see what tomorrow brings...
hello fello shavers, thursday night shave..loving all these soaps but hard to choose a favorite..loving each one for their qualities is an easier task so thats my new way forward..they are all great..went with the paa doppelganger black tonight, small pea sized amount in the captains bowl.built a grand lather with the rr 400 synth brush, and in 3 passes with the flat bottom tech/gsb combo got a lovely dfs+ shave. no drama..paa black splash to finish.. awesome scent..love it..happy friday folks..
Thanks for your kind words gentlemen. You guys always keep me going strong. I will pass on everyone's condolences to the family as right now I know the hurt they are feeling as I too am saddened by the loss of a loved one. God bless you all.
Hi guys, I did a little experiment which shouldn't be a surprise given my background. Lol! Seriously, I have been getting water spots on my straights. I decided to get Q-tips, paper towels, alcohol and my green chromium oxide bar. I decide to try my vintage blades first to see if I can get them shinier. First, I wiped them clean with alcohol and wiped dry. I took a Q-tip and rubbed it on the chromox bar and then applied it to the blade and tang of some of my vintage blades. Wiped with paper towels and then cleaned the Crox residue with alcohol to wipe dry. Lo and behold, they look so much better! My modern straights had little water discoloration and applied the same method to polish them. Every one of those blades came out great! Now, I am really happy looking at my straights. I thought I would share this info to all of you.
