The lacquer on the wooden handle of my cheapy boar brush is flaking off and starting to look hideous... So after my century of shaves with the R41 I am looking to treat myself to a new brush. I don't want to spend much money on one, so I've decided to look at synthetics. Two names pop up more than others: Yaqi and Razorock Plissoft. Does anyone have recommendations as to the best knots available from these guys? As I said, I'm not looking spend more than £20-£25. Cheers fellas! Sent from my EML-L09 using Tapatalk
@jtface: Why not get an Omega boar? I bought a pro 10049 for $10US. They are an Italian manufacturer and make great quality brushes that won't hurt your wallet. I understand that your looking for a synthetic, but you might want to consider Omega brushes.

So, it is a repeat of yesterday's shave, and a repeat picture. I hope everyone has a great Friday.
Thank you, Gary. The Noble Otter line of soaps is of very high quality and the scents are complex, but not unaccessible. In other words, yes. I like them a lot. Not to mention, their price point is extremely reasonable.

Good morning! Excellent shave to start the day! Three passes, no touch up. Near BBS with a hint of warmth from the alum. I have done a few practice lathers with the Fat. The short load time wasn't working for me. I went back to the tried and true "load like you hate it" and ended with a bowl full of rich slick lather, enough for two or three shaves. First use of the Veg :shudder: this morning. Once dry it's okay. Not a favorite nor do I think it ever will be but I'll use it on occasion. Probably on my Fat Friday shaves. Have a great day! Thanks, Joseph! I haven't completely given up on it yet but I'll keep you in mind. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
SOTD: Today was shave number 25 for the feather, and still performing perfectly! The Col Conk performed fantastically, super slick stuff, and a great choice as an every day soap. The Lion is perfectly capable of delivering a perfect shave, even though its the cheapest double edge razor widely available in South Africa. I'll use it one more time on Sunday before switching to the aristocrat to use that for a while.
