A shower and shave starts the day off right. Clean fresh start to the day. Rarely do I do a fool's pass under my nose. Not that I get irritation if I do it's just not comfortable. The whiskers are just too coarse there. Too much tugging for comfort. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Danny, Rocky always delivers a KO everytime! Have fun visiting your friend and enjoying the historical festivities. Have a safe trip!
I hear you. However, after I go left to right stroking NW/SE, then I go left to right stroking SW/NE and that suits me well. I don't do a full pass on a brand new blade when I use my shavette because that is asking for trouble. Usually, I will embark on that adventure on the third shave with the blade.
The post you quoted was meant to quote your earlier posts. I'm not completely with it this morning. I need more coffee. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Nice shave this morning, finishing off the Central Texas Soaps/Clubman trifecta. I hope I can have another shot at this combo before the dreaded humidity sets in and it must wait till fall.
April 28, 2019 Gem Damaskeene OC Gem PTFE Elite Desert Ironwood ( Tres Amigos ) with Envy White Molton Brown Dominica Grand Bay Rum I have enjoyed a relaxing morning. With nothing pressing I had a leisurely long walk with Mocha and finished off most of pot of coffee before the shower and shave. The Tres Amigos brush is really excels at face lathering. Today was no exception when it was paired with Molton Brown. A traditional 3 pass shave followed by touch ups caught the baby with ease. I am once again reminded of smoothness and efficiency of the little Damaskeene OC razor. I hope everyone has a great Sunday
Great shave and picture, Clint! Sounds an excellent start to the day. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
April 28 Good morning, fellas! Just finished my shave. I really could have waited until tonight or the next morning, but I decided to go for it. Today, I decided to bring out my VDH TTO armed with a VDH blade. Brought out the Glastonbury set to round out the gear. These items are my least favorite in my den, but I haven't used them together for a shave. Face lathered with my Omega Pro 49. Did 3 passes with minor touchups. The BBS train arrived on schedule. There weren't any nicks, weepers or irritation. I have to say my ragtag team did an excellent job and I was somewhat surprised about the outcome. Finished with the Glastonbury AS. Overall, it was a smooth, comfortable and enjoyable shave. Have a great Sunday, guys!
I'm with you on that Joseph. Long since gotten used to 48 hours growth as my "need another shave" feel. Thank you Joe!
April 28, 2019 Razor: G3 Aristocrat Adjustable (5) Blade: X3 Gillette Spoiler (2) Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22 Soap: Williams Post: Alum, Listerine WH Second shave with the Slim and a vintage Spoiler blade. This is the same setup as Friday's shave with a minor change. A while back, I won some empty shave stick containers in a TSD raffle. As an experiment, I sliced up an extra puck of Williams and shoved it into one of the shave stick containers. I finally got around to trying it today. Impressions... Williams does make a good shave stick as I got excellent lather with the synthetic brush. The Spoiler and Slim also continued to impress. I'm amazed at the quality of this 42 year old blade. All-in-all, a great shave.
Used my MWF soap for the first time. I soaked it for a good day and a half before using it the first time, as someone recommended in a post on TSD. I used my Semogue 1305 and bowl lathered. The soap was so wet and I left too much water in the brush. The result: I had to keep going back to the swampy puck for more soap to get a decent consistency. I still really liked the soap, but I think I'll like it even better next time. I used my VB Augustus on 7.5 with an Israeli Personna. Got a little weeper, so may dial back o 7 or so next time. A generous splash of PAA Al Fin finished off a very nice shave. C
