i agree sir,the race for the perfect soap is getting harder to market, scents differ, not much else..of course opinions on whats perfect differ..
Thank you Gary. The Molton Brown is really a pretty good soap. I am not sure about top notch though. My wife bought it as a gift supporting my hobby. Accordingly it is going to get a lot of love in this household.
The container is very nice. The soap is very hard so it is going to last a very long time. I have yet to wear through the logo impressed in the top of the soap.
Shave showdown yesterday. The Wagner vs The modern plastic doodad Focus R21 I am enjoying my shavette training so much. This plastic doodad razor could supplant the so called plastic doodad Focus R48 Dynamic (even though there is no plastic in it) as 'the Wedding Razor'. Figuring I need to get my honing game on with straights, I tried some convex Arkansas stones. Inspired by @matthewoli98 to get some Col. Conk Lime. I like it! 2 passes with the Wagner and 1 with the Focus R21. I guess Technique still Trumps Tools, so I gotta keep working on my honing technique if I'm ever going to see the old school real razor gonna catch this modern plastic doodad shavette with a Feather on (5). Finished with the Max Headroom signature Brut Splash on. Went with my oldest daughter to see End Game. Enjoyable evening.
I agree that the longer you wait between straight razor shaves the better. I can get by without shaving up to 30 to 36 hours between shaves. If I want to shave between 18 to 24 hours between shaves, then I use a DE safety to do the job.
