Pulled out my last Rapira Swedish Supersteel blade today. For a change, I loaded it into a different Gillette adjustable than the one I used for the last two months. Used the Arko stick to get at least a bit of Arko April with a different synthetic brush performing the honours. Then I finished with Lucky Tiger topped off with Florida Water Cologne just because I could. So the blade was the only piece of gear that stayed the same.I

The result? Two passes to a great shave. The razor felt a bit odd today because the long handle of the Black Beauty felt so comfortably spacious after using the short-stemmed Fatboy for so long. Tomorrow I will switch the Rapira blade into the mid-sized Gillette (the Slim) for its final use.

Fantastic shave and photo John. I know you were more than ready for a change of pace.

Very nice, Edison! One of the necessities of straight razor shaving is to hone your razors. I have not entered into that phase of my journey, but I am not afraid to do it. I have enough straights that I don't have to hone for some time.

Spent the afternoon cooking on the Big Green Egg. Smoked onion, tomato’s and jalapeño pepper salsa. Smoked corn for the wife. Smoked chicken infused with lime and pepper for tacos. Then some Mexican rice and black beans.

I am off the diet plan and enjoying some ice cold adult beverages on the patio as well. I really can’t ask for much better.
