Only 135 posts behind? Sundays are slow around here. Excellent lather from the Arctic Hydra soap this morning. But being all citrus, the scent is losing some if its oomph. An unfortunate side effect of having too many soaps. Maybe I need to give this a little more love while it lasts. I did 3.5 passes with the Ralf Aust, and...that's it. The lower neck wasn't quite where the injector would have left it. But better than I was getting even a week ago with the straight. There's still room to improve, but I'll take it for now.
that's true about most things sir..people get bored with reliable, they want the bells and whistles then complain when they fail..
More bells more stuff to break. I don't think there is such a thing as a base model work truck anymore.
Just replay my rant about that plastic looking garbage dynamic thingie and put the one blade in. That brush though.... beautiful!!
Robert, nice shave! I am a big fan of Ralf Aust razors! They cut through whiskers like it was nothing! My 2 Austs have served and shaved me well.
Being able to disguise the blood is a great idea. That way you'll keep shaving longer, creating more blood, and that's always a good thing, right?
Arko Adjustable April April 28 Razor - 1959 (E4) Gillette Fatboy (9) Blade - (1) Soap - Arko Brush - Stirling Pro Style Synthetic Post - Alum Back to shaving since it's Sunday. For the record - the Battle of Winterfell is done. I won't comment on any of the outcome in case someone is avoiding spoilers, but if you read my earlier predictions let me just say I wasn't as right as I thought I'd be but I NAILED one detail. Anyway, moving on. Back to the Fatboy for one last April appearance with a fresh Sharp Star on board. Arko for April and the Stirling Pro Style brush for a fantastic lather. Two things that ding Arko in my book....it's a bit drying and......it leaves a residue on gear. I'll have to do some extra cleaning on these razors for sure. As far as the shave went, three passes, the baby is on board, and life is good. Enjoy your Monday! Two more days until MAYhem!!!
Things are going well. I had the usual hiccups and false starts in the first few days but things have smoothed out and are making progress. Within another month I should be where I want to be at this point. The second half of the project is coming along nicely too. My goal is to have both sides - rideshare and Real Estate - up and running full time by the end of the year. That's a lofty goal, but the way things are moving I think I may just make it. I am enjoying not having to answer to a higher authority. However, answering to myself everyday I've discovered I may need to apologize to a few hundred restaurant workers in days gone past. I seem to be a tyrant.
Thanks Gary. Was a good day . Got some visiting in with relatives home for cousins funeral. We leave town for my girlfriends grandmothers funeral in morning. Been an emotional month to say the least. Been tinkering with lathe and making my carbide tools for when I ramp up production for shave brush handles lol. All will come in time .
No pic today but a very nice head and face shave with the ER1914, Wilkinson sword soap, Surrey brush and to be honest i think I forgot aftershave since i hurried off to paint a truck. Try to catch up in next day or so.
SOTD: Had a really quick shave on Sunday night for church, and what a shave it was! As usual the Arko performed amazingly, especially given how little time i had. What an amazing soap for when you need to shave quickly and still have amazing results. The aristocrat also performed perfectly, such an easy razor to use, and super mild too, at least compared to the lion and fatip piccolo. Its been a while since ive used the old spice whitewater, and its a really great scent, im thinking of adding menthol to mine, i just need to find a place that stocks menthol first. Beautiful shave from the feather, definitely my favourite blade now. Razor: gillette aristocrat barber-pole handle (1948) Blade: feather hi-stainless (27) Soap: Arko shave stick Brush: dischem synthetic Aftershave old spice whitewater Sent from my Redmi S2 using Tapatalk
It was a busy weekend full of soccer and baseball games. I fell way behind on the thread, but lots of good looking shaves and pictures, gentlemen! I hope everyone is doing well.
