    Good morning!

Awesome shave to start the day! Three passes with quick touch up. Near BBS with a tickle from the alum.

I did better today under my nose with the first pass. I allowed myself to use a steeper angle. I was more cautious yesterday with it being my first use of the MicroMatic.

Second use soap focus continues with Captains Choice Bay Rum. Wonderful easy lather but unfortunately the scent seems to be dissipating. A splash of aftershave and I'm ready for another Monday.

    Have a great day! [IMG]

  11. The metal version works great as long as you use pressure. The shave result is very similar to the Cobra Classic without the possibility of getting cut.

Nice shave to start the week. Used the last sliver of the Arko stick this morning.

I doubt I will open another stick right now, I have partials of 3 creams and 2 soaps I am trying to finish.

I started traditional wet shaving in October of 2014, and my parents gave me this razor for Christmas that same year. By the I got it, I had done a 30 day rule and was able to get a blood free, DFS level of shave, but often with quite a bit of irritation. I hadn't yet figured out how to ride the cap, but I was convinced I had good technique. I used to never get a good shave from this razor, either it wasn't close, or I had a lot of irritation. So, I blamed the razor and put it away. After a year of wet shaving and being on this thread, I figured out some better technique, and now I can get irritation free, DFS with little effort most mornings.

It is amazing, that even after I figured out my technique led to the poor shaves, I still have a negative view of this razor and rarely use it. I pulled it out this morning, and did two passes for a DFS. Nice and easy. It really is a nice shaving razor. Just shows that Technique Trumps Tools. I hope everyone has a great day!

BTW, the picture and filter are courtesy of my daughter. I have to give credit where credit is due.
