I started traditional wet shaving in October of 2014, and my parents gave me this razor for Christmas that same year. By the I got it, I had done a 30 day rule and was able to get a blood free, DFS level of shave, but often with quite a bit of irritation. I hadn't yet figured out how to ride the cap, but I was convinced I had good technique. I used to never get a good shave from this razor, either it wasn't close, or I had a lot of irritation. So, I blamed the razor and put it away. After a year of wet shaving and being on this thread, I figured out some better technique, and now I can get irritation free, DFS with little effort most mornings.
It is amazing, that even after I figured out my technique led to the poor shaves, I still have a negative view of this razor and rarely use it. I pulled it out this morning, and did two passes for a DFS. Nice and easy. It really is a nice shaving razor. Just shows that Technique Trumps Tools. I hope everyone has a great day!
