I think after so many years of Edge gel and Jillette brand products, I've become gun shy . Could be because I relate them to the 1000s of crappy cart 2,3,4,5 bladed shaves I've gotten over the years. Since discovering wet shaving , I've become jaded towards the canned stuff. Since its MAYhem......I MAY do a canned shave with one of my new inventions and call it a " double deuce" MAYhem shave.
Time for a break from the straights. I have a few new (to me) toys that I have not gotten atound to trying because of the long focus. There's a nice Autostrop, a Durham Duplex, maybe even a Rolls, depending on what kind of shape the blade is in. The straights will come out on the weekends so as not to lose my touch. But first things first. I've been slimming down the collection lately. Software and hardware both. Not dumping all of the DEs. Just deciding which ones I really want and which ones I don't. Up today was the Muhle Rocca R96. Short answer? Bye bye. It's been a while since I used it, but I remember not much liking the gigantic handle. Using it today pretty much confirmed what I remembered. It's not heavy. Just big and clumsy feeling. Too bad, because it does give a great shave.
