Knowing how the slow boat from China moves product I've got time to read up and purchase acceptable blades. I haven't tried any thing fancy in SE types as good old Chicks serve me well in an injector. No beginner with shavettes or straights either so open blades are familiar. Since I'm just dipping my toes in the BOPS water the Professional AC types look like my style.

 

He is oozing confidence.....getting ready for the little girls at preschool.

Omega Pro 98 boar brush
Suribachi bowl, cool water
Yaqi DOC, vintage Lutz handle
Astra Superior Platinum blade
Pinaud Citrus Musk cologne
Ahh, good lather on a well broken in boar brush. That odd feels mild but so much blade exposure double open comb. Three passes with nary an error. Splashed on the serious lime AS. Unlike Lime Sec that fades quickly this one has a little more staying power. Been a day here with activities planed tomorrow. Enjoy your weekend folks.

Robert, I see you're chillin'!

 

The Feather Pro is the gold standard in my book as well as several other people I know as well. I believe @Keithmax would vouch for them as well considering he showed up with 60 of them for me at the meet up last year. The only difference in the Feather AC blades from mildest to the Super Pro is the amount of exposure. They are all actually the same sharpness. The guard blade is the one different as it actually has a built in guard around the blade to make it harder to slice yourself. I used them briefly while learning the pain stick but honestly I would have been just as good using the Pro from the start.

Kai blades - similarly good in my opinion but perhaps not quite as durable as the Feathers. I'll use a Feather Pro for 7 straight days before considering tossing it. Some have gone much longer.
