Yeah, I'm particularly fond of Geneva Cutlery and Union Cutlery myself. They are some sweet razors at very reasonable prices.
I am enjoying the shaves from the Focus R21 so much that I bought a second one. There are only 2 other razors I have in this 'double down' / 'can't be without' category. Is liking a half DE shavette so much a turn 'from' the dark side? Anyhow, against my strongest abilities to resist becoming a 'rock collector' this very unusual combination of convexed Arkies beckoned for my ownership. When I took my Wacker Barbers Bride to the Naniwa 12k for my first hone touch up I noticed an ever so slight inconsistency in geometry. I'm not an experienced razor sharpener, but I thought I did OK with I think what is called a rolling x stroke. This got my interest in a hone designed to compensate for a less than a 'dead nuts' perfect geometry. This should be fun! You dirty Rat, I'm gonna get you. Also, as a testament to the enabling power of a new young friend from S. Africa the Col. Conk Lime showed up. @matthewoli98 this is your fault. Hart Steel 11/16th inch. 1/2 Hollow Made in the U.S.A. By James Arman It is my first purchase, of a "Modern Made Razor". I tend to like the lines of the Vintage razors. But, for $49.00, I had a hard time passing it up. It still has the original bevel on it, and doesn't show hone wear. It has the tiniest of a nick, on the toe end, that doesn't concern me.
They are very light, and chunky. Kind of awkward to strop with. If I can find the proper hex wrench, to tighten the scales, it might make stropping easier. Oh, very ugly scales. Reminds me of the 1980's. Bad lines, and bad colors. The camera doesnt catch the bright blue and tan lines like it should. One of @TestDepth 's scales would improve the look of this razor immensely. I just need to learn how to do it, like he does, and make some. Possibly some nice scales would make me appreciate it, more.
Is that a hex or Torx wrench? Can't quite make it out in the photo. I've got a razor made by Jerry Stark which has a Torx screw that I wish he had put a dab of Lock Tite on, as it's a real PITA because it keeps loosening.
