Happy Friday. The little Shavemac loaded and lathered the Shiloh with ease. I really like the scent of this soap. Three passes and touch ups ended in a perfect BBS. Now off to fight the morning commute. I hope everyone has a fantastic Friday.

    Razor: Gillette Red Tip A3
    Blade: Polsilver SI (1)
    Brush: Grizzly Bay Constitution
    Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated
    Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
    PAA Galactic witch hazel
    PAA Star Jelly unscented
    AS: Fine American Blend

    Good morning!

Great shave to start the day! Three passes near BBS. Just a tickle from the alum. The Red Tip performed flawlessly!

Excellent lather from the Fat this morning. The best so far.

I went with Fine American Blend, skipping the Veg. I'm thinking that to be a wise choice. K-9 unit on duty going through airport security. I've heard they use the Veg to train cadaver dogs.

Got an hour to kill before boarding.

    Have a great day! [IMG]

Pulled out the ‘crat Jr this morning as a bit of a mini-comparison with the Red Tip I used the rest of the week. I suspect this is probably a ‘Canadian Rocket’ but don’t have the case to prove it. Quick Gillette in Canada lesson- As far as anyone knows, Gillette never produced any TTO razors in Canada. 3 piece razors? Tonnes. I have a Canadian Old Type, pre and post war Techs, a NEW LC etc. These British Aristocrat Juniors were sold in Canada in Rocket cases, and as such have been called Canadian Rockets by some. They are different from the standard Rockets however. The finish is very Aristocrat-esque and the bottoms are different. I got this a few years ago in a small town Alberta antique store in mint condition and it quickly became a keeper.
Soap choice inspired by @Primotenore yesterday. Whipped up a superb lather. Perfect, just the way I like it- thick, slick and just on the edge of becoming runny with too much water. This brush handle is becoming a fave as well- looks aside, it is ergonomically very comfortable for me.
I had 3 very smooth, comfortable passes. Am I completely smooth? Close, but maybe not. Was I yesterday with the Red Tip? Probably, but I wouldn’t want to live on the difference. I’ll give the Jr another spin tomorrow.
    Have a great day all!

  16. Very nice, Robert. We don’t see too much mention of the EJ soap on here. How was it?
I hear you on the ‘accumulation’, Joseph. One in, one out has been working well for me this year, to be honest.
Happy Friday is right! End of day today CANNOT come quick enough, Clint! I trust the commute wasn’t too horrible this morning. The pic was as stunning as ever. That Shavemac knot looks terrible. That one should go in the sell pile for sure...pm on the way.:happy097:
Just wow, Jim. Again, I have that same razor, the same blades, and can bring out a bottle of different Fine juice, and they just DO NOT look like they do in your photos. Great work.

  17. From the ingredients list it may have a similar glycerin added slickness. Whole different matter than PS oils. If you like the subtle cooling and want to kick it up a notch give the Proraso Green PS soap a try. Nothing subtle about it. I'd also like to try the PAA Cube to see how it acts.

Set the trend. If someone has a problem let them speak up. They can go on to increase their potential elsewhere. While I understand allergies, people who insist on "scent free environments" ought to be adjusting their personal space rather than insisting the Universe cater to their Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS Syndrome). Just my opinion, but you ARE the Boss!

Allowances of course for special circumstances. I get the issues involved when Charlie @wristwatchb visits with his kids in the hospital, or John @John Ruschmeyer and his wife's sensitivities.
