A bit of a rough shave. The Gillette ABC razor is by far the most aggressive razor I own and it's pretty tough to get a smooth, comfortable shave from it. I have had a small number of decent shaves from the razor but it takes delicacy. It's not a smooth razor. If I'm not really, really careful it can tear me up. I've already tried virtually every blade I can and this razor is the most finicky, most difficult shave to master. I got several minor weepers with my shave today and a little irritation. I put on my personal formula of skin-healing products to try and recover for tomorrow morning's shave (NeoCutis Bio-Gel, PAA Mysterium Serum a and very small touch of benzoyl peroxide 10% cream to prevent any shaving bumps/infections). That combination usually speeds healing on the shaves that come out bad. This shave wasn't the worst I've had, but definitely crossed that line into needing enhanced post-shave treatment to ensure I can shave again tomorrow morning. The Creed fragrance is some really great stuff. It's got the best rose scent. The Catie's Bubbles products are nice, but just doesn't quite nail what Royal Mayfair smells like. So far I've been unable to find a perfect match for the the rose note in Royal Mayfair. All the knock-off scents just get the rose wrong. Almost like they are missing an accompanying floral in the mix or maybe Creed is using a very specially engineered rose/flower for their ingredients. The eucalyptus used to smell ultra-fresh, almost metallic 2 years ago when I first bought Royal Mayfair, but that has settled down into a more mellow, sweet eucalyptus. So, if you buy Royal Mayfair, you may have to wait nearly 2 years for the juice to smell its best. When it was brand new the eucalyptus just dominated the entire opening, but now I get the lime, the gin and the gorgeous rose from the very start along with the mellow eucalyptus. When the bottle is brand new I would spray it on and I would have to wait up to almost 3 hours to smell what it smells like right out of the bottle today, 2 years later. Creed ages well like fine wine. It's spectacular stuff. Royal Mayfair, Royal Water, Aventus and Royal Oud all smell better 2-3 years later than when they were brand new bottles. Very expensive but you ultimately get what you pay for because no knockoffs really smell quite as good in the long run.
Citrus for Saturday. Col Conk Lime - great smell. Lather is easy & good. Lacks some of the residual of soaps with amimal fats that I like. Quite capable and economical, should last a long time. Geo. F. Trumper Extract of Limes Skin Food. - I will always have this. Can be used pre and/or post shave. Not greasy. Soothing. Has glycerin. Pulled out the Wacker Barbers Bride. Performed flawlessly after a recent touch up. A tool made by a master in his trade has everything one could want in fit, form, and function. Lacking only in the sizzle of the pan. Finished up with Stirling Satsuma. Now offered in Glacial menthol. Great shave.

Excellent hardware there my friend. I wouldn't mind obtaining one of those ER Streamline razors someday, but redone by Delta Echo... Very nice Josh Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk
Thanks. Jay does nice work. I'm not sure they're still in business, though. I hear good things about North Shore Razors, though, and they do the same gunkoting.

Thanks for the tip about the Stoylin Satsuma being offered in Glacial Menthol...I will certainly need a cooollllld A.S. this summer-that is to say, colder than Aqua Velva.
Wonderful shave, from a German Made Razor. Smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BBS. This 1/2 Hollow can hold a very nice edge. I just wish I had it when it was pristine. Razor- Hamburg Ring.
