Sorry the shave was not better Andrew. At least the picture was great. Hope you feel better soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I know it’s disappointing but things worked out for the best. You’ll find what you want soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sorry to hear about the house, Perry, but it sounds like it might be a blessing in the long run, if you were completely sold on it.
Perry, I believe things happen for reasons that we don't understand because we don't have the full picture. Your house will be in your first choice neighborhood. The wave of uncertainty will not be long, so be anxious for nothing.
You are right Joe. I left out Stirling! My scatter brain.... Stirling belongs in the first group that I posted.... WK/Stirling/ToBS/MWF.....no particular order in my book, all great performers for me.
While this isn't the route I chose....it should be a very viable method with minimal initial investment to learning both honing and straight razor shaving. Wet Shaving Products - $45 for a Gold Dollar 800, it is returnable if you aren't happy with it (this $$ includes being honed before it is shipped to you by someone who does it for a living, has a store front). I would think....that WSP would not sell GD razors that have wonky geometry. WSP also has a sister SR honing service website. Amazon - $80 for a 4k/8k Norton Waterstone Either of the above - $20 for a starter strop Amazon - $15 Nagura Stone (optional) Then...just search YouTube on gssixgun using only a 4k/8k stone to get a shave ready edge. Or, I also watched a YT video last night from Lynn Abrams on 'one stone honing'. Both are great resources to us newbies.
I am sure it is, but I do not feel like taking the piping apart. As long as the water drains, it's ok by me.
I've gone knotting crazy. I just ordered 4 cheap handles from DS Cosmetics and a 26mm two band bulb knot. I also ordered a 26mm tips bulb knot from Turn N Shave. I plan to add Maggard SHD and possibly a Fanchurian as well. I'm planning on doing a big review and comparison thread of the various 2 band badger knots that I have in my den.
